Beyoncé & JAY-Z Diss the Grammys, Spotify & the Super Bowl on “Everything Is Love”

Beyoncé and JAY-Z decided to disrupt everyone’s Saturday by surprising the world with the release their long-awaited joint album, titled Everything Is Love.

The album features nine tracks featuring both Bey and Jay, and they’re both firing major shots at a number of big establishments.

Throughout the project, Bey and Jay flex their individual lyrical muscles to target the Grammys, the Super Bowl Halftime Show and even Spotify, basically letting them all know that the Carters don’t need them and they’re doing just fine without their support.

1JAY-Z: “I said no to the Super Bowl. You need me, I don’t need you.”

The first jab comes in track #2, “Apes**t,” which is also The Carters’ debut single from the album. JAY-Z confirmed rumors that he was asked to do this year’s Super Bowl Halftime show, but he declined the offer. He raps:

“I said no to the Super Bowl / You need me, I don’t need you / Every night we in the endzone / Tell the NFL we in stadiums too”

The last line is a nod to him and his wife selling out stadiums in 2014 for their “On The Run” tour and in 2018 for their “On The Run II” tour. Jay also sold out stadiums in 2013 with Justin Timberlake (who did accept his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance offer).

2JAY-Z: “Tell the Grammy’s f**k that 0 for 8 sh*t.”

Not only did the Grammys snub Beyoncé in 2017 for the coveted “Album of the Year” award, which she clearly deserved (hell, even the award’s recipient, Adele, said she deserved it!), but the following year, in 2018, they refused to put some respeck on JAY-Z’s name by nominating him for eight trophies and giving him ZERO for 4:44. Jay raps about that in “Apes**t” as well, basically giving the Grammys a big ole EFF YOU!

“Tell the Grammy’s f**k that 0 for 8 sh*t / Have you ever seen the crowd goin’ apes**t? (Rah!)”

3Beyoncé: “If I gave two f**ks about streaming numbers, [I] would have put Lemonade up on Spotify.”

Of course, JAY-Z isn’t the only one of The Carters firing shots on Everything Is Love. His wifey Beyoncé, or Trapyoncé, as fans are calling her for this project, calls out Spotify They didn’t do anything to her (that we know of) other than being competition for the family business TIDAL, but she did let them know that she doesn’t need them to help boost her streaming numbers.

On track #4, “Nice,” Yoncé raps:

“If I gave two f**ks – two f**ks about streaming numbers / Would have put Lemonade up on Spotify / F**k you, f**k you / You’re cool, f**k you”

When Beyoncé released her last album Lemonade exclusively on TIDAL, which she co-owns alongside her husband, she reportedly lost out on millions of potential streams (and possibly higher chart positions for her singles) by limiting the album to just one streaming platform. But, as her lyrics suggest on “Nice,” she’s not bothered by the lost revenue and not having a higher position on the charts.

How to Listen to Beyoncé & JAY-Z’s “Everything Is Love” Album Without TIDAL

How do I stream Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s Everything Is Love joint album if I don’t have TIDAL? Long story short: YOU CAN’T! But there are a couple of ways for you to listen to the album without paying for a TIDAL subscription. Read on for the details…

Without warning, Beyoncé and JAY-Z (aka “The Carters”) dropped their long-awaited joint album Everything Is Love exclusively on TIDAL Saturday afternoon (Jun. 16)

Following the release of their solo projects—Beyoncé’s 2016 album Lemonade and JAY-Z’s 2016 album 4:44, the power couple joins forces for a 9-track album featuring songs like “Summer,” “Boss,” “Nice,” “Friends” and their new single “Apeshit” (WATCH THE VIDEO FOR APESHIT HERE!)

The Carters announced the album’s release at the London stop of their critically acclaimed “On The Run II” tour. Just as the couple’s show at London Stadium wrapped Saturday night, the words “ALBUM OUT NOW” were plastered on the huge stage-length screen.

While people are scrambling around and scouring the Internet for ways to listen to the album, the only way you can stream the album is through TIDAL, considering it’s an exclusive release on that platform. But what if you’re not a TIDAL subscriber?

Well, if you lack the TIDAL subscription required to stream Everything Is Love, there’s a legal way to listen to it if you don’t want to sign up for the service. You can purchase the album for $9.99, the same exact price for a monthly TIDAL subscription.

Or, alternatively, if you’re still looking for a way to stream the album without dropping any cash, you can always sign up for a FREE trial of TIDAL using an e-mail address that’s never been used for such a thing.

“But what if I don’t want to listen to the album on TIDAL?” you ask. Well, in the words of the grandpa on the movie “Holes,” THAT’S TOO DAMN BAD!

Beyoncé and JAY-Z own TIDAL, so do you really think they’re going to allow you to use your coins elsewhere? HELL NO!

So, either you create a burner e-mail for a free trial, spend the $9.99/mo to become a TIDAL member, buy the album outright for the same price as a monthly subscription … or just miss out on the whole thing altogether.

Beyoncé Wishes Twins Sir & Rumi Carter Happy 1st Birthday at Concert: “We Love You!”

Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s twins, Sir and Rumi, turned 1 year old on Wednesday (Jun. 13), and their superstar mom celebrated the occasion with special shout-out during the Manchester, England stop of her and Jay’s “On the Run II” stadium tour.

At the end of the show, while singing the concert’s closing number “Forever Young,” Beyoncé said: “Happy Birthday to sir and Rumi. We love you!”

The crowd naturally cheered after the adorable mention, which comes just one week after the notoriously private parents gave fans a rare glimpse of Sir and Rumi during the tour’s opening night show in Cardiff, Wales.

Fans were hella confused last week when Beyoncé’s rep told BuzzFeed that twin babies shown during the show’s opening montage (below) were NOT Sir and Rumi.

Thankfully, Sir and Rumi’s grandmother—Beyoncé’s mom, Ms. Tina Lawson—posted THIS photo of the actual twins from footage apparently showing Mr. and Mrs. Carter’s vow renewal ceremony, which is shown on the screen near the end of every “OTR 2” concert:

She captioned the image, “My sweet babies.”

This is our first “official” look at the twins since Beyoncé’s Instagram post last July celebrating the day the twins turned one month old. We also saw a quick glimpse of the babies last November when paparazzi snapped pictures of them in Miami, where the Carters were staying for JAY-Z’s “4:44 Tour” concert.

While Beyoncé and JAY-Z never speak publicly about their kids (outside of their music, of course), Ms. Tina isn’t shy about doting on her grandchildren. Last year, she gave us a small glimpse into Sir and Rumi’s personalities, telling Us Weekly, “[Sir] has a stare, like a mean mug, like JAY, sometimes, which is so cute [and Rumi], she’s just so happy all the time and so sweet. They are just adorable!”

She added, “It’s amazing. It’s one of the best blessings. Being a grandmother, it’s not like being a mom because you don’t have to have all the responsibility all the time, but they are amazing. This is my first experience around twins, and they’re so different, and their personalities, and they are wonderful.”

Beyoncé & JAY-Z Shared Intimate Photos of Them in Bed, and the Internet Couldn’t Handle It

It’s rare that we get a glimpse into the uber-private lives of Beyoncé and JAY-Z, so you’ll have to excuse the Internet for losing it over recently released photos of the couple basically naked in bed together.

Mr. and Mrs. Carter kicked off their “On the Run II” stadium tour in Europe last Wednesday (Jun. 6), which gave the world an inside look at the twins, their vow renewal and some intimate home videos of Bey’s second pregnancy.

Bey and Jay also decided to put their nekkid bodies on display in a tour book featuring some private photos of the two lovers laid up in bed.

In some of the photos, you can clearly see Beyoncé’s “cheeks,” and in the pics of her and JAY-Z, it’s obvious that both were definitely in their birthday suits with only a bed sheet (or cleverly placed arms and legs) to cover them.

Fans who have purchased the $30 “OTR 2” tour booklets uploaded some of the photos online…

…And the internet, unsurprisingly, absolutely could NOT handle it.

While some of the comments were generally positive, most of them were focused on how uncomfortable JAY-Z looked, and let’s just say… those were the best/most hilarious reactions:

Too bad JAY-Z already let us know on 4:44 he gives not one damb about what we think about his looks: “Ain’t no such thing as an ugly billionaire. I’m cute.”

Looks like Beyoncé and JAY-Z get the last laugh.

Beyoncé JAY-Z “On The Run II” Tour Cardiff: Photos, Videos, Setlist

Beyoncé and JAY-Z kicked off their highly anticipated “On The Run II” Stadium Tour Wednesday night (Jun. 6) in Cardiff, Wales in the U.K. The show, a sequel to the couple’s 2014 “OTR” Tour, featured a bunch of intimate moments between the Carters on one of the biggest stages ever built for a concert tour.

The epic show featured two massive catwalks, a floating stage that ran over half the length of the stadium, a 26-person vertical orchestra, 17 dancers, a full-on pyro and lights show, and visuals galore shown on a massive screen that spanned the entire length of the stage.

Mr. and Mrs. Carter performed a huge 43-song setlist, mixed with their solo hits and collabs, including “Drunk in Love,” “Top Off,” “Big Pimpin,” “Baby Boy,” “Sorry,” “N**gas in Paris,” “Formation,” “Deja Vu,” “Crazy In Love” and much more.

Many fans were hoping for new music, which Bey and Jay did not deliver, but they made it for it with with the show’s big production—possibly the duo’s biggest yet—as well as an inside look into their uber private lives.

In between songs, the couple, who celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary back in April, shared never-before-seen videos and photos from their personal archives, including footage of now 6-year-old Blue Ivy and the twins, Rumi and Sir Carter, who will celebrate their first birthday this month.

Bey serenaded Jay with her Ed Sheeran duet “Perfect” while images of the Carter family showed on the giant screen behind them, and during the closing number, “Forever Young,” the couple was shown dressed in what at what appeared to be a vow renewal ceremony.

“On The Run II,” presented by Live Nation, will make 14 more stops across the U.K. and Europe before heading to Cleveland on July 25th for the North American leg—featuring special guests DJ Khaled and Chloe x Halle—which will hit major U.S. cities like Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans and Houston before concluding on October 4th in Seattle.
