Offset Bought a Car For the Man Who Helped Him After His Accident: “He Saved My Life”

Offset almost lost his life in a pretty serious car crash last month, and now the Migos rapper is paying it forward by helping out the Good Samaritan who he says saved his life.

According to TMZ, the rap superstar (born: Kiari Kendrell Cephus) totaled his green Dodge Challenger in Atlanta the night of May 16th after reportedly swerving to avoid hitting a “crackhead” in the road.

A number of photos Offset posted showing the damage to the car and his injuries revealed the severity of the crash. The rapper had multiple injuries to his hand, arms, and face.

Offset says a Good Samaritan by the name of Jamar Coleman had been walking to work when he saw the rapper climbing out of the wrecked vehicle and helped get him to safety. So, to express his gratitude to Jamar, Offset purchased a car for the man, who Offset says is a father.

In a video clip that went viral on social media, Offset repeatedly thanks Jamar as he hands him the keys to a Nissan Altima. “THANK YOU JAMAR FOR HELPING SAVE MY LIFE. GOD IS GOOD,” he wrote on Twitter.

“My boy Jamar saved my life, I got him a new whip. He was walking to work when he saved my life. I got my boy a nice car man,” Offset says in the video. “Take care of your kids with that brother,” he can be heard telling Jamar, who seemed very thankful for the gift.

“He saved my life when I had that accident. He’s the only one that seen me, helped me get out the car, helped me walk [and] get to where I had to get to, so I bought my boy a car… God is good all the time,” Offset added.

Quavo Says Offset Is “Doing Fine” and “Should Be Back Working Real Soon,” Talks Upcoming Solo Migos Projects

Quavo was the only Migos member who attended the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night (May 20) in Las Vegas.

Before the show’s festivities kicked off, the rapper was asked about the condition of his cousin and groupmate Offset, who was banged up pretty bad last week after getting into a car accident.

“My boy Offset got into a bad car accident, but he doing fine, he up and running, he up and walking, ready to work,” Quavo told Billboard. “He should be back working real, real soon. It’s a blessing that he’s still here. God is good.”

God really is good, because Offset released a bunch of photos from the crash showing off his injuries and how badly the car was wrecked, and it’s a miracle he made it out not only alive, but with what’s considered pretty minor injuries.

Quavo also talked to Billboard about new music and revealed that Migos are working on some new projects right now, including some solo tracks, but he didn’t want to reveal too much.

“We got a lot of projects coming this summer,” he teased. “This July, we got DJ Durel. He gonna be releasing a lot of our solo songs on his album, so we do got solo singles that’s coming this summer.”

The rapper Migos frontman also opened up about lending some backing vocals to Childish Gambino’s “This Is America,” which he called “amazing” and “a blessing.”

“It’s overwhelming,” he continued. “Me and Donald got a good history, you know, he shouted us out at the awards and we’ve been on Atlanta, and him going back and forth… our communication and our connection is real strong, so whenever he calls me and says, ‘Let’s do some music,’ we’ll just pull up and just work.”

Offset Confirms He Crashed His Car After Swerving to Avoid Hitting a Crackhead

Cardi B was right! Offset has confirmed that his car crash was the result of him swerving to avoid hitting a crackhead.

Last week, the Migos rapper was admitted to the hospital after he was involved in a pretty serious car crash, and based on a number of photos Offset shared from the accident showing the damage to his car and to himself, he’s lucky to be alive.

Offset Shares Bloody Car Crash Photos: “I Could Have Been Dead From This Accident

In a since-deleted tweet, Cardi B revealed that Offset’s car crash happened because the “Ric Flair Drip” rapper swerved in the road to avoid hitting an allegedly suicidal crackhead.

“Crazy how Set had to swerve and hit a tree cause a crackhead was in the middle of the road trying to get hit or kill himself,” she said, “but God do unexplainable things! Luckily a man was walking by, walked him home and just vanished. The Lord is real.”

While out in Beverly Hills last Thursday (May 17), Offset was approached by TMZ and was asked about the accident. Though the rapper isn’t known for speaking to the paparazzi, he was a lot more open this time. When the cameraman asked him if his accident was caused by him swerving so that he wouldn’t hit a crackhead, Offset simply said “facts.”

Offset also gave credit to God, saying that he was the “Good Samaritan” who took him to the hospital.

Earlier today, TMZ reported that Offset would not be facing any criminal charges in relation to the accident because police have decided against pursuing the case. According to TMZ, the incident will be considered an “abandoned/recovered vehicle case, with only a tree being hit and nobody else other than Offset being hurt or injured.”

In the words of Offset, “God is real, God is good.”
