Second XXXTentacion Murder Suspect Arrested

Police have arrested a second suspect in XXXTentacion’s murder case.

22-year-old Michael Boatwright was arrested on an unrelated drug charge on Thursday, July 5th, and while he was in jail, he was served with a warrant on Tuesday, July 10th for first-degree murder.

According to court docs, when Boatwright was pulled over on July 5th for tinted windows, officers smelled marijuana and then discovered 6 grams of crack cocaine in his pocket.

Boatwright’s arrest record shows that, in addition to the murder charge, Boatwright is being held on charges of cannabis possession, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver, possession of the drug flakka, battery on a specified employee, resisting/obstruction without violence, and probation violation, among other charges. He’s being held without bond and it wasn’t immediately clear whether he had obtained legal representation.

XXXTentacion was shot and killed outside of a motorcycle dealership in Broward County, Florida on June 18th. According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Boatwright is one of the two armed suspects who confronted the rapper outside Riva Motorsports before he was gunned down. Police believe four people in total were involved.

22-year-old Robert Allen was also identified by investigators as a person of interest in connection with the killing of the 20-year-old rapper after he was spotted on surveillance video at the motorcycle in Pompano Beach were XXX was shopping before he was murdered. Allen is still wanted, along with another unnamed suspect.

Boatwright’s arrest came a few weeks after 22-year-old Dedrick Williams was arrested and booked for first-degree murder, however, police have said that he is not one of the men who actually shot XXXTentacion.

XXXTentacion Signed a $10 Million Record Deal Weeks Before Shooting Death

Just weeks before he was shot and killed in Florida, XXXTentacion signed a record deal worth $10 million, the New York Times reports. According to the Times, X was offered the contract by Empire, the same label he released his debut album 17 on last year.

According to multiple people who were “briefed on the terms,” Empire planned on releasing the Florida rapper’s third album sometime this year, and he had been in the studio working on new music at the time of his death.

Empire founder Ghazi Shami confirmed that the rapper had finished “a significant amount of material” for the album before he died. XXXTentacion’s posthumous third album isn’t expected to drop until at least October due to a clause in his last record contract with a distribution unit of Universal Music Group.

The release of his third album will no doubt contribute to the controversial rapper’s posthumous rise in popularity. The week after his death, his latest single “Sad!” jumped from No. 52 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and he beat Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s Everything Is Love joint album for the #1 spot for that week.

The video for “Sad!”—which was released the day of his private funeral and eerily shows him attending his own funeral and fighting with his own resurrected body—has been viewed more than 60 million times on YouTube, bringing his total audio and video streams for his music to a whopping 4.6 billion, according to Nielson.

Rapper’s Mother Shares Picture of Burial Site

XXXTentacion’s mother made sure her late son was put away VERY nicely.

Following XXXTentacion’s private funeral service last Thursday, his mother, Cleopatra Bernard, shared a photo on her Instagram page of XXX’s final resting place. In lieu of a traditional burial site, Cleopatra opted for a massive private mausoleum for X.

“My guardian angel,” Bernard wrote in the photo’s caption on IG. The mausoleum bears XXXTentacion’s name across the top in large font, along with his real name, Jahseh D. Onfroy, below in a smaller font.

The grey and black monument was flanked by red, black and silver flowers—the same flowers that were placed near his casket at his public memorial and private funeral.

Fans have said that XXX’s burial site is located in Gardens Memorial Park in Boca Raton, Florida and his mother plans on hiring security to guard it 24/7.

XXXTentacion was shot and killed during an apparent robbery attempt outside of a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida on June 18th. So far, police have made one arrest related to the shooting. 22-year-old Dedrick Williams is currently being held on a first-degree murder charge at the Broward County Jail without bond while his two accomplices are at large.

Last week, the music video for XXX’s latest single “SAD!” was posthumously released, which eerily depicted the rapper attending his own funeral. The video was reportedly shot weeks before his murder.

“SAD!” skyrocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 marking the first time an artist has posthumously reached the top of the chart since Notorious B.I.G. in 1997. Cardi B’s “I Like It” (ft. Bad Bunny & J Balvin) knocked X’s single down to No. 2 this week.

Police Issue Arrest Warrant for 2nd Person of Interest in Rapper’s Murder

Police are still looking for the men responsible for the murder of Florida rapper XXXTentacion, and while they already have one suspect in custody, two others remain at large.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, a Broward County judge has signed off on a warrant for the arrest of 22-year-old Robert Allen of Ft. Lauderdale. The warrant was signed Tuesday (Jul. 3), 10 days after Allen was named a person of interest in the killing of XXXTentacion.

Allen was reportedly seen in surveillance video footage at RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach on June 18th—the same day XXXTentacion was shopping there and was later shot and killed. Allen’s arrest warrant, which isn’t related to the homicide investigation, was issued June 28th.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said that Allen has been on probation for possessing PVP, also known as “flakka,” and for carrying a concealed firearm. According to his arrest warrant, he has “failed to make every effort” to find a job and owes the state more than $3,000 for community supervision.

XXX was behind the wheel of his black BMW i8 when he was killed. An SUV blocked X’s car as it was leaving RIVA Motorsports’ parking lot, and two gunmen—one in a black mask, the other wearing a red mask—jumped out of the SUV and struggled with the artist, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, before shooting him multiple times and making off with his Louis Vuitton bag filled with cash.

22-year-old Dedrick Devonshay Williams of Pompano Beach, Florida, the driver of the SUV, was arrested June 20th—just two days after XXXTentacion’s murder—and faces a premeditated murder charge. Police don’t believe he was the person who pulled the trigger and they are searching for two other suspects Wiliams is being held without bond at the Broward County main jail facility. An internet rumor suggested he was raped and assaulted in the jail’s shower, but officials at the jail debunked that story, saying nothing of the sort happened.

XXXTentacion was laid to rest last week in a private mausoleum following two services—a public memorial attended by thousands of fans at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL and a private funeral service attended by family, close friends and industry peers.

His mother, Cleopatra Bernard, shared on Instagram a photo of his mausoleum, which is located in Gardens Memorial Park in Boca Raton, Florida.

XXXTentacion Murder Suspect Dedrick Williams Was NOT Raped in Jail

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, reports that XXXTentacion’s murder suspect was raped in a Florida jail are NOT true.

TMZ says that law enforcement officials at BSO told them the story floating around the internet over the past few days saying that 22-year-old Dedrick D. Williams was raped in the Broward County jail facility is “flat-out false.”

The report from the website Hip Hop Overload cited someone claiming to work in the Dade County Jail system who said that Williams was “getting a shower when he was ambushed with an attempted rape.”

BSO’s Public Information Officer Veda Coleman-Wright said the story was “unfounded” and that none of what was said didn’t happen. Basically, Williams was NOT physically assaulted nor was he raped.

Two weeks ago today (Mon, Jun. 18), XXXTentacion was shot to death outside of RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Police were able to track Williams down and arrest him because he was seen wearing the same orange sandals he had on when he allegedly took part in the shooting death of the 20-year-old rapper on Instagram. He’s being held without bail.

Police have reportedly identified a second person of interest in XXX’s murder case, a 22-year-old man named Robert Allen, who was captured on surveillance video at the same motorcycle shop where X was gunned down. Investigators haven’t released the name of the third person involved, who they’re still looking for.

Last week, XXX’s family, friends, and fans celebrated his life with two separate services—a public memorial service held Wednesday (Jun. 27) at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL, which was attended by thousands of the rapper’s fans, and a private funeral held the next day.

In an incredibly eerie instance of art imitating life, XXXTentacion released a music video showing him attending his own funeral. The video was for the rapper’s latest single “SAD!” which is currently the No. 1 song in the country after experiencing a massive sales and streaming boost after his tragic death.

Rapper Left Everything to His Mom & Brothers

XXXTentacion pictured with his mother, Cleopatra Bernard (R), and his little brother Aiden (R)

Though XXXTentacion had no idea when he was going to die, he definitely was prepared for the worse, because months before he was shot to death, at the young age of 19 years old, he took the time to write out a last will and testament.

The Blast obtained court records showing that the rapper’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, filed the probate case for his estate on June 25th. The probate filing included an 11-page will that was signed and executed on November 17th, 2017, roughly 7 months before he died.

TMZ was able to get ahold of the actual document, which revealed that XXX left all of his property in a trust, with his mom as the trustee. The will, which was drafted long before X’s girlfriend became pregnant with his child (as revealed by his mom via Instagram), doesn’t list any children, leaving everything to his mom and two brothers. X’s mother also requested to be the administrator of his estate.

XXXTentacion was laid to rest Thursday following a private funeral service attended by close friends and family. The day before, thousands of XXX fans traveled to Sunrise, FL to say their last goodbyes at an open casket public memorial at the BB&T Center.

XXX was murdered June 18th, 2018 in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Within days, one of the three men responsible for his shooting death, 22-year-old South Florida tattoo artist Dedrick Williams, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and is currently being held at the Broward County Jail with no bond. Police are still looking for the other two suspects, one of whom is a 22-year-old man named Robert Allen.

XXXTentacion’s Alleged Killer Raped in Jail (Report)

Life comes at you fast! The word on the street is that the man who was arrested for his alleged involvement in XXXTentacion’s murder was attacked in prison, and it doesn’t sound too good.

According to reports floating around the internet, Dedrick Williams—one of three men who robbed and shot XXXTentacion to death—was raped in Broward County Jail, and the word is that incarcerated Florida rapper Kodak Black had something to do with it.

The website Hip-Hop Overload quotes a reliable source who works in the Dade County Jail system. According to them, the alleged rape and assault happened Wednesday, the same day a public memorial was held for XXXTentacion at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL.

Hip-Hop Overload reports:

Word we got from our informant is that he was told Dedrick was getting a shower when he was ambushed with an attempted rape, which in jail is the ultimate sign of disrespect. We are told that Kodak Black people may have had something to do with it. This makes total sense because XXXTentacion and Kodak Black are extremely tight friends like brothers.

One has to think if the assault was calculated to happen the day of XXXTentacion’s memorial which was held at the BB&T Center in Broward County today [Wed, Jun. 28]. We are currently trying to get pictures of the assault once we do we will be sure to share them all. As you see we are told Dedrick was beaten down pretty bad.

HHO also provided screenshots from a text message exchange with their informant. “They got him today! XXXTentacion’s killer, [they] got him in [the] shower! Got him pretty bad. Rape and all,” reads the thread. “Word I got is [Kodak Black’s] people [did it]. Had to move Dedrick to PC [Protective Custody]. It was bad.”

What’s surprising is that Williams, 22, wasn’t already in protective custody, considering how high profile his case is. There are no credible reports to HHO’s story up, but, then again, the mainstream media doesn’t usually report on prison violence anyway, especially rape.

Police are still looking for the other two men responsible for XXXTentacion’s shooting death.

XXXTentacion Laid to Rest in Private Funeral Service Attended by Friends & Family

XXXTentacion’s friends and family said their finals goodbyes to the rapper Thursday during a private funeral service in Florida.

Unlike the public memorial service that was attended by fans the day before, Thursday’s service was just for the “SAD!” rapper’s close friends and family. Among those in attendance included Erykah Badu and “Cash Me Ousside Girl” Danielle Bregoli (also known by her rap name Bhad Bhabie).

“LONG LIVE XXX,” Badu wrote along with a heart emoji while showing the funeral program. “‘They may try to erase your face But millions spring up in your place.’ -e.b.”

Bregoli, who made headlines last week after she broke down crying while talking to TMZ about her late friend, apparently took the service pretty hard. “Out of this short 15 years I’ve been alive watching that casket close today was the hardest thing I have ever had to watch,” she wrote on Snapchat. “I finally feel a little better that I got to say goodbye and tell you I love you for the last time.”

Nima Etminan, Vice President of EMPIRE, the record label XXX was signed to, recalled a quote the rapper’s great-grandmother said during the private funeral service. “In life, you can wait for storms to pass, or instead you can learn to dance in the rain,” she shared with the crowd. “Jah danced in the rain.”

XXXTentacion’s mom, Cleopatra Bernard, also posted about her son’s funeral on Instagram. “Goodbye my love, until we meet again,” she wrote.

The day before the private service, XXX was memorialized in a 6-hour open casket public service attended by thousands of his biggest fans at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.

According to reports, mourners traveled from all over the country to pay their last respects to the rapper (real name: Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy) who was shot and killed last Monday in Deerfield Beach. The turnout was so large that many people opted to arrive as early as 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, about five hours before doors opened. Many were pictured breaking down in tears.

A number of celebrities were spotted at the public service, including rappers Lil Uzi Vert, PNB Rock, Lil Yachty and more. During the memorial, DJ Scheme, XXX’s producer and personal DJ, played the rapper’s music, and in between tracks, fans were treated to motivational words from his past viral videos.

A video montage of his performances played on two giant screens on the stage and the scoreboard in the middle of the arena. Two large photos of the rapper were placed on each end of the stage where his casket was.

“It was the most perfect thing for Jah,” Scheme told Billboard. “It described everything he was perfectly. These fans are our family so it’s nothing to show them his body. He would want that. I promise Jah was looking down at that event today with a huge smile.”

Cameras and cell phones were not allowed into the building, but those who attended were able to describe what XXX was wearing in his casket—a denim button down jacket and burgundy pants, with his signature locks braided.

Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Yachty stood by the casket with X’s mother, who would periodically pause the line so that X’s famous friends could hav their own time with them. Ugly God was “visibly heartbroken” as he walked up to the casket and eventually became “inconsolable,” according to Billboard.

Tiurakh$ushii—a rapper form Lauderhill, FL and childhood friend of X—spoke to reporters outside the venue, saying that he didn’t want to in and look at his friend inside his casket. “I don’t want to see my boy like that,” he told the Sun-Sentinel.

Brett Clarkson, a reporter for the Sun-Sentinel, described the scene in vivid detail via Twitter:

Clarkson also posted a number of photos from outside the BB&T Center:

The official video for XXXTentacion’s single “SAD!” was released Thursday morning. The video, written and creative directed by X, shows him attending his own funeral and fighting with his resurrected body. The song recently became the first posthumous No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 for a lead solo artist since The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” in 1997.

Of the three men allegedly responsible for XXXTentacion’s shooting death, one was arrested last Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder. Dedrick Williams is being held in the Broward County Jail without bond, while his accomplices have warrants out for their arrest.

JAY-Z Wonders Why XXXTentacion Was Killed & George Zimmerman Wasn’t in New Drake Collab “Talk Up”

According to JAY-Z, when a group of masked men shot and killed rapper XXXTentacion last week in Florida, they got the wrong guy. It should have been George Zimmerman, JAY-Z raps in a new song with Drake on the latter’s newly released album Scorpion.

Drake released his new album Scorpion last night, and social media LOVED it. Drizzy is definitely spitting bars throughout the project, but one standout line actually comes from his friendly rival JAY-Z on the song “Talk Up.”

On the DJ Paul-produced track, Jay namedrops rapper XXXTentacion and Trayvon Martin’s killer George Zimmerman, wondering why the former isn’t alive and the latter still is. He also mentions how he’ll never sit down with that orange motherf***er who’s currently the POTUS.

“I got your president tweeting / I won’t even met with him / Y’all killed X and let Zimmerman live, Streets is done,” JAY-Z raps, referencing how XXXTentacion was killed in broad daylight by his own people, while Zimmerman, who unjustly killed a young black boy, is able to while around here free as a bird and bragging about how he basically got away with murder in between run-ins with the law.

The line was such a big hit with social media that the name “Zimmerman” was a trending topic for a few hours:

This wouldn’t be the first time Hov has mentioned George Zimmerman either. After Zimmerman threatened to “beat” the Brooklyn rapper back in 2017, Jay responded on “Top Off,” featuring his wife Beyoncé, Future and DJ Khaled.

He rapped on the single, released back in March, “Meanwhile Georgie Porgie sinnin’ and sendin’ me threats Save your breath, you couldn’t beat a flight of steps / Try that sh** with a grown man / I’ll kill that f***boy with my own hand.”

WATCH: XXXTentacion Goes to His Own Funeral in “SAD!” Music Video

Yesterday, it was announced through XXXTentacion’s Instagram story that he would be posthumously releasing the music video for his hit single “SAD!” And this morning, as promised, the video hit YouTube at 9 a.m. sharp.

With the rapper’s public memorial taking place Wednesday (Jun. 27) in Sunrise, Florida, which was attended by thousands of fans, it looks like during the filming of this music video, XXX may have been foreshadowing his own death.

The visuals were written and creative-directed by X himself and could easily be compared to Tupac’s “I Aint Mad Atcha” video. Without spoiling too much of the plot, we’ll just let you watch it for yourself below:

The haunting, thought-provoking and captivating JMP-directed visuals find the rapper given the task of battling himself as a means to end the negative energy in the world and spread positivity.

At the beginning of the video, the viewer is asked a series of questions in text-form relating to themselves, with one of the questions including: “Why do you love?” When the rapper appears on screen, he’s seen attending his own funeral, and when he walks up to his casket, his body—laying with his iconic half-blonde half-black locks—jumps up and attacks him.

Throughout the video, XXX can be seen sitting hunched over in a dark room clearly avoiding eye contact with a robed, masked figure, who we find out was the one asking all of the questions and making the statements about changing the world by spreading positivity. “The world is in need of change, humans must learn to love and compromise rather than destroy,” the shadowy figure says. “The world will soon be more loving, you will see.”

The song plays as XXX fights himself while onlookers watch, which is likely a visual representation of him “battling his old self” in front of the world. After winning the fight, XXX sits on the ground and uses supernatural powers to control his alter ego’s body, dragging it across the ground and throwing it up against the wall.

The video ends with XXX laying his old self to rest—a powerful representation of what the rapper was facing and thinking during his last months on earth.

The video for “SAD!” comes just a few days after the single skyrocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the first posthumous No. 1 single by a lead solo artist since The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” in 1997.
